During my studies of economics, I decided to do a twelve-week practical placement at Bystronic. At its German business location in Gotha, Bystronic is always looking for students to support its product managers in marketing and for events. The practical placement helped me deepen the theoretical knowledge from university within the practice-oriented environment of an international company.
In the product management department for press brakes, I analyzed existing and potential markets. I managed social media channels on which Bystronic exchanges information about sheet metal processing with customers and interested users. My tasks also included organizing customer events. Sheet metal processing technologies are rapidly changing. Hence, Bystronic regularly organizes "study tours". During these tours, customers and users from around the world visit Bystronic's development and production locations, in order to learn more about the latest products and technologies.
After completion of my practical placement, Bystronic offered me a position as a student trainee. During this time, I became even more strongly involved with the press brakes that Bystronic manufactures. In the meantime I also operate these machines as an applications technician in the demo center and during exhibition events. Last but not least, I was given the opportunity to support the product managers at Bystronic's US business location in Elgin for several months. A fantastic and challenging experience for me.
A practical placement and also the possibility to write a thesis within the company are the perfect starting point, in order to lay a promising cornerstone for your career. Bystronic is on the lookout for dedicated students at many of its business locations. So, simply send in your application.
